Biography
John McCauley is a trial and appellate lawyer with fifteen years’ experience handling complex cases throughout the country. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of commercial, intellectual-property, shareholder, antitrust, and constitutional matters. John joined Hansen Reynolds in 2015 after clerking for the Honorable Michael S. Kanne on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and practicing with a large national firm. Before law school, John worked for a management consultancy advising clients in the banking sector.
EXPERIENCE
Successfully defended Wisconsin counties against former President Trump’s challenge to the 2020 election results. Prevailed in the Wisconsin Supreme Court, federal district court, and before the Seventh Circuit.
Obtained over $300 million for minority shareholders of Promega Corporation—one of the largest shareholder-oppression recoveries in the U.S.—after a successful month-long bench trial. Co-counsel with Susman Godfrey LLP.
