John McCauley Presents on Technology-Assisted Review
Partner John McCauley recently presented at The Wisconsin Association of Corporate Counsel’s 2017 Annual Conference. His presentation, “Using Technology-Assisted Review to Reduce Litigation Costs and Gain an Advantage,” discussed how in most commercial litigation, document review consumes an inordinate amount of time and expense. The root of the problem is the large (and growing) volume of information at the average company. The standard methods that attorneys use to sift through that information and find the relevant documents, are inefficient and often yield poor results. John’s presentation proposed a better way. Using machine learning or “technology-assisted review,” we can quickly locate the relevant information at a fraction of the cost. John covered how this technology works, offered tips for using it in practice, and discussed the evolving case law in this area.
