BIOGRAPHY

Jessica Mederson joined Hansen Reynolds LLC in 2011 and serves as the Managing Partner of Hansen Reynolds’ Madison office. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Mederson was an attorney with Vinson & Elkins LLP in Austin, TX. Ms. Mederson litigates business and IP matters in state and federal courts across the nation. Licensed in four states, she focuses on construction defect litigation, management and director/officer disputes, employer-side employment litigation, contract disputes, and patent infringement litigation. Ms. Mederson has extensive experience with both ediscovery issues, including cross-border discovery, and attorney-client privilege issues.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Led Hansen Reynolds trial team that successfully defeated all claims alleged against a national manufacturing company in a multi-day bench trial in Illinois state court.

Lead counsel for national manufacturing company in multi-party construction defect case in Iowa state court, successfully negotiating multi-party settlement.

Advises employers on an ongoing basis on employment matters and represents them in labor-related litigation.

Lead counsel in shareholder lawsuit against corporation, achieving a successful settlement of client’s claims related to treatment of client’s shares pre- and post-IPO.

Counsel for Native American tribe and tribal casino in litigation over $50,000,000 bond transaction. Saybrook Tax Exempt Investors LLC et al. vs. Lac Du Flambeau Band Of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians et al., Waukesha County Circuit Court Case No. 2012-CV-187.

Lead counsel for former CEO, defending claims of breach of fiduciary duty, defamation, and other business torts. The case settled with the former CEO paying nothing. James L Prange vs. Orion Energy Systems Inc. et al., Sheboygan County Circuit Court Case No. 2012-CV-333.

Led discovery efforts for a multinational defendant in a patent infringement lawsuit involving industrial enzymes, where patent was held invalid for lack of written description at the trial court level and this decision was affirmed by the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Part of the team representing a master limited partnership, its general partner, and its directors in a lawsuit filed in Texas state court by a limited partner alleging breach of the partnership agreement, breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing, and statutory and common law claims of fraud.

Part of litigation team that successfully obtained dismissal of all allegations of securities fraud against underwriter in connection with the initial public offering of a software company in a state court proceeding in San Jose, California. Dell-Oca v. UBS Securities LLC, 2006 WL 3354006 (Cal. App. 2006).

Represented former outside directions against lawsuit brought in bankruptcy court alleging directors breached their fiduciary duties.

Obtained summary judgment in Texas state court on behalf of industrial client against plaintiffs alleging private nuisance.

Part of litigation team that obtained a significant settlement on behalf of contract manufacturer in lawsuit involving fraud and breach of contract claims arising out of the sale of wafer manufacturing equipment.
