Biography


Michael Lueder joined Hansen Reynolds LLC in 2017. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Lueder was a partner with an AmLaw 100 firm. There, Mr. Lueder founded and chaired the firm’s national Consumer Financial Services Litigation practice group. Immediately prior to that, Mr. Lueder served as Chief Litigation Counsel for one of our country’s largest banks. Mr. Lueder has served as an adjunct professor teaching Consumer Law at Marquette University School of Law. Mr. Lueder’s practice focuses on consumer, employment, banking, noncompete, class action and general business litigation. Mr. Lueder is licensed to practice in Ohio, Wisconsin and many federal district and appellate courts.

Experience


Telephone Consumer Protection Act – First chair representation in dozens of individual and class TCPA cases accusing companies of autodialing consumer cell phones or sending faxes without proper consent.

Fair Debt Collection Practices – Multiple cases addressing debt collectors challenged for sending illegal collection letters or engaging in allegedly abusive collection practices.

Wisconsin Consumer Act – Advise and represent time share developers, banks, short term lenders and individuals in federal and state court single plaintiff and class cases charging violations of the WCA.

Credit Card Antitrust Litigation – Defended national bank charged with colluding with Visa, MasterCard and other banks to set prices in the credit card industry.

Noncompete Litigation – Recovered over $4,000,000 from top broker and her employer for violating noncompete when she defected brokerage taking her entire team.

Employment Litigation – Successful handling of over 100 employment discrimination matters over 30 years of practice.

Misrepresentation Litigation – Representation of individuals and companies in dozens of cases alleging misrepresentation and violations of consumer protection statutes.

Consumer Finance Litigation – Fought countless claims under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Truth in Lending Act, and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act

Bank Operations Litigation – Defend claims against banks for UCC Article 3 and 4 violations, breach of fiduciary duty and Know Your Customer rules.
